- Served as a Chairman of the Glass and Optical Materials Division, 1996/1998. Member of the glass division excusive committee, 1996-present
- Program Chair and Symposium Organizer (1991-1993), the first American Ceramic Society PAC RIM meeting, Honolulu, Hawaii.
- Representing the US glass industry at the International Commission on Glass. 1995/2005, as Counsel and Coordinating Technical Committee member.
