Riverboat Lunch Cruise
Monday, October 16 / 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Soak in the sights of Cincinnati’s river heritage and regional charm on a Riverboat Luncheon Cruise. Cruising on an historical and beautiful riverboat offers more than just a remarkable view of the city. It is a unique experience with period entertainment and the best in casual dining. Unwind on the deck and enjoy the ever-changing vistas: from Ohio’s picturesque bluffs to historic homes set against the backdrop of Kentucky’s rolling hills. As you cruise up the lazy river, dine on a delicious buffet and listen to the melodies of a Dixieland banjo player.

Riding the Underground Rails
Tuesday, October 17 / 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cincinnati and the Ohio River Valley are rich in the history of African-Americans’ struggle for freedom. Travel the invisible rails of the Underground Railroad. The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center serves as the nation’s hallmark to courage, cooperation, perseverance and freedom. Experience the many interactive exhibits, including the Slave Pen, an authentic wood structure transported from rural Kentucky, seven galleries featuring the history of freedom from colonial times to the present, and an environmental theatre. Lunch is served in the North Star Café overlooking the Ohio River and Kentucky’s rolling hills. Afterwards, tour through Northern Kentucky, viewing historic landmarks such as The Carneal House, a safe house in Covington, Kentucky’s historic Riverside District, and the statue of slave and freeman James Bradley sitting on a park bench overlooking the Ohio River. Finally, visit the Cincinnati home of Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

From the heart of Fountain Square where throngs of Cincinnatians gather for brown bag lunches, concerts, sports and political rallies, you will pass through the city center and become familiar with many of Cincinnati’s most famous landmarks. Travel up the scenic hillside to discover the old world charm of Mount Adams with its shot-gun row homes, Eden Park’s Mirror Lake, and the Krohn Conservatory. Cross the Roebling Suspension Bridge to Kentucky’s historic Riverside Drive with its antebellum homes. Once you have worked up an appetite, enjoy lunch at a Cincinnati institution: Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse. The world-famous ribs, friendly service and striking view of the Ohio River make for a unique and memorable event.
